Get to know the Honey browser extension
Honey is a free browser extension that searches for deals on the internet. One-click and Honey automatically searches for and tests available coupon codes at checkout on 30,000+ popular sites. If we find a working code, we then apply the one with the biggest savings to your cart like magic. Ta da! Thanks to Honey Gold, you can earn rewards just for shopping on participating sites (even if there isn't a coupon code available). We’re always adding new stores and features, note that not all aspects of our service are available in all countries or channels, so stay tuned.
The Basics: Signing Up
Getting deals is easy with Honey. Just look for the "Join" button on the top right-hand corner of our site. Then choose how you want to sign up. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 - 4, or 5.
You can install Honey here. Or click directly on one of the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Edge.

The Basics: How It Works
Now, the fun part - looking for savings! Once you've installed Honey, you'll see a small "h" when you shop on thousands of your favorite sites.
On Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Edge, we're on the top right corner. If the h is orange, Honey is supported on that shopping site. Any coupons we find for that site will be illuminated in green (and that's a lucky color).
Note: Using Chrome 83 or above and don't see Honey on your toolbar? It may be in the Chrome Extensions icon (puzzle piece icon) in the upper right corner of your toolbar.
On Safari, we're on the left of the toolbar. See those numbers in red? That's how many coupon codes we've found for that particular site.
This window will also pop up automatically if we find coupons for that site. Just click Apply Coupons and we'll test the available codes we found. If we find a working code for your order, we'll apply the one with the biggest savings to your cart.
If we don't find any codes that beat the price you already have, we'll let you know that, too. So you can check out with confidence knowing that we searched for you.
We're big fans of community. Our members share information about deals, prices, and items which can help everyone to save time and money.

The Basics: Shopping with Honey
One of the best things about Honey is that you don't have to change a thing. Just shop like you normally do and Honey will activate if the store is supported. Our list of stores is always growing. Have a store you want us to add? Keep the suggestions coming here.

What's the difference between our browser extension and mobile app?
We get asked that question often. They’re both parts of the Honey experience. Both can save you time and money. They just do it a little differently.
For starters, the Honey extension works on your web browser - Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Opera. If you’re shopping on one of the 30,000+ sites that Honey works on and we find codes for that site, we’ll pop up to test and apply coupons we find for you. Amazing, right?
Now, on to the app. Imagine taking your favorite sites, throwing in codes we find, adding the price intelligence of Honey’s community for deal notifications, and bringing them all together in one easy-to-shop destination. That’s the basis of the app. Also amazing, right?
Think of it this way. The extension goes with you to different stores whenever you’re on your computer. The app brings different stores to you in a single app whenever you’re on your phone. And both can help you find deals and score rewards.
So, the extension goes with you. The app brings everything to you.

Do coupons work differently?
Since the app and extension work differently, so do the coupons.
As we mentioned, the extension goes with you to different shopping sites on your computer. So when you’re ready to check out, a window pops up to let you know if Honey found coupon codes for the store. The extension then automatically tests the coupons to see if any can work for your order. If we do find working codes, we’ll apply one to your order.
When you shop a store in the app, you’ll see a Honey bar at the bottom of the in-app browser that pops up when you view a product on the store website.
For both the app and extension, you'll have access to great deals we find, so you can always shop with confidence.

What about Honey Gold?
You can earn Honey Gold on both the app and extension on your eligible items. In the app, you’ll see the Gold rewards rate in the orange Honey bar at the bottom of the in-app webview. You’ll see pending and earned Gold rewards in the same place for app and extension purchases. View your Gold transactions in your Account Overview.
How do they work together?
The app and extension were meant to be different (kind of like peanut butter and chocolate). One is geared for the best shopping experience on your phone while the other is meant for the best experience on your computer. But together they’re great.
We’re always working on both to try to help you save even more time and money. Between the app and extension, you’ll have more chances to save when you shop.

What is Honey Gold?
Honey Gold is our free rewards program that lets you earn Gold towards store gift cards on your eligible purchases. When you shop participating stores with the Honey browser extension, you can get a chance to earn Gold on your purchase.
Gold is rewarded on the subtotal of eligible items and does not include tax or any additional fees such as shipping.
Just so you know, Honey Gold isn't offered on every store that has Honey support. If Honey Gold is offered on a shopping site, you'll see it listed in the browser extension:
To enable Honey Gold for a store, click the Activate button.
At checkout, click Apply Coupons when Honey appears and Gold rewards will automatically activate. Honey will then automatically apply coupons we find to your order, giving you a chance to earn rewards and save money at the same time. We call that a win-win.
Honey Gold transactions post as pending in your Account Overview within 2-14 days of completing your eligible purchase, although this may vary in some instances depending on the purchase and retailer.
What about exclusions?
Honey Gold is only available for eligible items. After you've enabled Honey Gold for a store, check the exclusions list for more information on exclusions that may apply for that site.
Exclusions are determined by the merchant and vary by store. If there are no eligible items in your order, you will not earn any Honey Gold on that purchase. We won't be able to determine if the items you've purchased are eligible until after you make your purchase.
Note: Using another rewards program will likely interfere with Honey. We recommend disabling any other rewards programs and ad blockers, so you don't miss a chance to earn Honey Gold on eligible purchases.

Pending Honey Gold
Honey Gold transactions post as pending in your Account Overview within 2-14 days of your purchase, although this may vary in some instances depending on the purchase and retailer.
Honey Gold will remain pending for approximately 60-90 days until your purchase is confirmed by the merchant. This time period can vary based on retailer and can be more in some instances. This will occur before we have verified that all items of your purchase are eligible for Honey Gold. If part or all of your purchase is ineligible for Honey Gold, or if you do return all or part of your purchase or receive a refund on it, the amount of Honey Gold you can earn will be reduced accordingly based on the new subtotal of eligible items. While Honey Gold appears as pending, it cannot be used or redeemed. You'll be able to see when your Gold is no longer pending and becomes available to redeem in your Account Overview.
Travel reservations (e.g. purchases made at hotels, car rentals, or other travel sites) earn Honey Gold on a different timeline. The merchant requires you to complete the reservation before Honey Gold is confirmed or even listed as pending in your account. Even though you have already paid, there's still the possibility that you may cancel or modify your trip.
Once the merchant confirms the purchase (after the return window has ended or in the case of a travel reservation, when the stay is completed) that Gold will be cleared into your account and be available for redemption!
Please reach out to us if you have any questions about pending Gold transactions.

How do I know if Honey is working?
To make sure Honey is installed and working on your browser, check for an h icon in the upper right corner of your toolbar if you're using Chrome, Firefox, Opera, or Edge. If the h is orange, Honey is supported on that shopping site. Available coupons found for that site will be illuminated in green.

Whitelisting Honey for ad blockers
Honey Gold is our way of giving back to our members. However, certain ad blockers can prevent you from earning your rewards.
In order to allow you to earn your Honey Gold, we need to validate your purchase by communicating with the store where you made your transaction. Certain ad blocker settings prevent us from doing this.
Not to worry. Here's how you can adjust your settings. If you have Adblock Plus, uBlock Origin, or AdBlock, click here to add Honey to the filter list (AdBlock users may have to refresh the page they land on after clicking the link). Honey will then be “whitelisted”- meaning you'll now be able to earn Honey Gold while still using your ad blocker.
Have a different ad blocker or need to manually whitelist Honey? Just go to your ad blocker's "Options" page and find the custom filter list. Copy and paste this URL: https://www.joinhoney.com/whitelist/honey-smart-shopping.txt and hit subscribe.
In some cases, you may still see the Honey Gold ad-block message even after adding the filter mentioned above. If so, you can disable your ad blocker when you shop and re-enable it once you're done.

Can't Login
Are you having issues logging into Honey? There are two main reasons why you may be getting stuck:
1) You have made too many failed attempts.
2) You are receiving a proxy error message.
A proxy error message could be generated by our system because it recognized that you were accessing Honey from a VPN (virtual private network), a proxy "unlocker" service, or a flagged IP address. Our system can't distinguish a person's intention when using a proxy service - due to this, your access to Honey could temporarily be flagged for security reasons.
Instructions for disabling your VPN:
These instructions are intended to be general guidelines and may vary depending on your browser, operating system or VPN software. If you keep running into trouble, we recommend contacting your VPN service for more guidance.
For Mac
For Windows (versions 7, 8, and 10)
Your IP address may have been compromised and used for malicious activities. When that occurs, the IP is flagged and blocked by a lot of external providers. See if your IP address has been flagged for suspicious activity. In this case, there isn't a work-around currently.
Reach out to us if you're unable to get into your Honey account and we'll do our best to help get you back in!
